Starbucks Barista Job Duties

As a barista at Starbucks, you will be expected to adapt to the changing needs throughout the store rapidly. Everyone shares responsibilities including Cash Register, Drink Preparation, Warming of Food Items and general upkeep of the store. We are a neighborhood Starbucks with an emphasis on making the customer feel at home. It is a fun engaging atmosphere that requires quick adaptability and an eye for detail.

As a Starbucks barista, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Prepare coffee and tea beverages for customers
• Recommend the coffeehouse’s products to undecided clientele
• Clean and maintain the store during downtime as needed
• Ensure that you are adhering to food safety procedures at all times
• Cash handling and accurately record customer order information
• Resolve customer complaints quickly and efficiently as they arise

Here's the tough part: While on the clock cell phones are not on you or used at all. (exceptions are breaks and lunch.) Dress code is strictly enforced. This includes but is not limited to: clean apron and shirt every shift, correct shoes, no jewelry from wrist down (health dept rule) I am posting this to so there is an understanding before we meet. You must be able to be coached by the manager or shift leads. This is daily.
