What are the responsibilities and job description for the House Manager position at Sloan Comfort Care Home?
About Us:
At Sloan Comfort Care Home (SCCH), a program of Accountable Health Community, our mission is to provide deeply compassionate end-of-life care that respects the dignity and autonomy of each guest. Unlike traditional healthcare settings, Sloan Comfort Care Home serves only two guests at a time, creating an environment where personalized care, meaningful relationships, and dignity remain at the center of every guest's experience.
Position Summary:
Sloan Comfort Care Home is seeking a compassionate, organized, and mission-driven full-time House Manager to provide hands-on care leadership and operational oversight within the Home. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines direct guest care with care coordination, staff leadership, volunteer management, scheduling, training, and support of daily household operations.
While hospice providers oversee medical care, the House Manager serves as the day-to-day leader within the Home, helping ensure guests, families, volunteers, and caregivers receive the support they need. The majority of the House Manager's time is spent providing direct care and supporting daily operations while coordinating communication, schedules, training, and volunteer engagement.
This role is ideal for an experienced caregiver who enjoys leading by example, building relationships, coordinating teams, and creating a warm, welcoming environment where guests can live their final days with dignity and comfort. The House Manager provides approximately 40 hours per week of direct care, leadership, and operational oversight, ensuring exceptional guest care, effective team communication, volunteer engagement, and smooth daily operations.
Working closely with the Executive Director, the House Manager helps support the overall mission, culture, and functioning of the Home while fostering a collaborative, compassionate, and accountable care team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to treating all guests, families, volunteers, and colleagues with dignity, respect, empathy, and professionalism. Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed to support guest care and operational needs is required.
