What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL A Delivery Driver position at Slo-Melt Ice?
Duties:
- Operate and drive trucks to transport goods and materials to specified destinations
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as pallet truck and cart
- Follow safety protocols and regulations while operating heavy equipment
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks
- Plan routes and ensure timely delivery of goods
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries.
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery schedules
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
Requirements:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Class A or B)
-2 years experience
- Proven experience as a truck driver or in a similar role
- Knowledge of truck maintenance and repair procedures
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and pallet trucks
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
Note: Experience with delivery trucks is a plus.
