Data Architect (Multiple Openings):

DUTIES:    
Architect Modern Data Models: Leverage AWS S3, AWS Glue, AWS Redshift, and DBT Core to 
support scalable and efficient data processing and self-service analytics. 
Assess Current 
Infrastructure: Perform a comprehensive review of NYL’s data landscape, including legacy 
systems, data flows, governance processes, policy/contract data, and vendor data. Analyze 
AWS Capabilities: Identify synergies and gaps in current AWS services to define the target-state 
architecture. Establish a framework for evaluating tools and provide an outside-in 
perspective for addressing capability gaps. Target-State Data Model: Define approach and 
considerations for developing a new, scalable data model. Data Modernization Strategy: Create 
a detailed roadmap for migration, data model transformation, cloud infrastructure, and governance. 
Implementation Plan: Develop a clear, actionable plan for project delivery and rollout. 
Cloud Data Migration: Migrate existing data from current AWS infrastructure to a modern data 
warehousing platform. • Data Integration & Real-Time Processing: Enable integration of 
structured/unstructured data from multiple sources and implement real-time processing capabilities. 
ML-Ready Infrastructure: Build robust staging and ODS layers to handle large volumes 
of data for machine learning and advanced analytics. Governance & Compliance: Implement data 
governance frameworks (quality, lineage) and ensure compliance with insurance 
standards and regulations. 
Requirements: 
Bachelor’s Degree or foreign academic equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Electronics & 
Communications Eng. Electrical Eng., Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field. 
Requires 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Solution Architect, Software Engineer, Sr. 
Software Engineer, Technical Lead or related field.  Requires experience in Azure Data Factory, 
Azure DataStorage Gen2, Snow Pipes, Streams, Tasks, AWS glue, AWS S3, AWS Redshift, SQL, 
Spark SQL, BySPark, DBT Core, SQL Server, Azure SQL Server, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, 
delta Lake, Databricks, Spark, AWS Glue, AWS Redshift. Job requires relocation to unanticipated 
client sites throughout the United States
