What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Solutions Lead position at Slip Robotics?
Slip Robotics builds autonomous robotic systems for warehouse logistics. We are a venture-backed, fast-growing team where technology, data, and AI are core to how we operate — not just what we sell. Our Digital Solutions team builds the internal tools, workflow automations, enterprise integrations, and governed systems that keep the company scaling efficiently.
The RoleWe are hiring a Digital Solutions Lead to own the design, development, and productionization of internal tools, workflow automations, and cross-functional applications across Slip Robotics. This is the person who turns operational problems into software — fast, pragmatically, and at a quality level that scales.
You will lead a small, high-output team that builds tools the entire organization depends on. You will also steward Slip’s AI tool governance framework — managing the pipeline that classifies, reviews, and promotes AI-assisted tools across the company, and owning the Slip Hub as our centralized platform for tool delivery and AI tool governance.
AI is a core accelerant for this role. You will use AI-assisted development daily and set the standard for how your team leverages it to produce outsized output.
What You Will Do- Design, build, and ship internal tools, dashboards, workflow automations, and enterprise system integrations that solve real operational problems.
- Own the productionization pipeline — take prototypes that prove their value, re-architect them to production standards, document, monitor, and support them.
- Steward the AI tool governance framework: manage the tier classification model, registration pipeline, review SLAs, cost tracking, and quarterly reporting to leadership.
- Own and maintain the Slip Hub — the platform where the organization discovers, accesses, and consumes governed internal tools.
- Lead and grow a small team of developers and engineers, setting technical standards, reviewing work, and building a culture of speed and quality.
- Serve as the organizational point of contact for AI tool governance and internal tool delivery. Coordinate cross-functional reviews and stakeholder communication.
- 5 years of software development experience with a strong full-stack background (frontend, backend, APIs, database design).
- Demonstrated experience building internal tools, operational automations, or enterprise integrations in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong AI fluency — you actively use AI as a development accelerant (prompt engineering, LLM APIs, code assistants) and can set the standard for a team.
- Experience with governance, process design, or technical program management — you can build systems AND build the frameworks that keep them coherent.
- Familiarity with enterprise system landscapes (ERP, CRM, PLM) and the integration patterns that connect them.
- Experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, PostgreSQL, and production deployment workflows. Familiarity with DynamoDB or NoSQL databases a plus.
- Strong cross-functional communication — you translate technical capability into business value for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with data platforms (Snowflake, dbt, or similar) and analytics tooling.
- Background in robotics, logistics, manufacturing, or hardware companies.
- Familiarity with SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks.
- Experience building an internal tools function or engineering team from scratch.
- Competitive salary and equity in an early-stage robotics company
- Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision
- Permissive time off policy
