Position Summary:
This position is responsible for running multi-slide machines and mechanical punch press. This requires making sure the machines are running effectively and efficiently and producing quality parts. The operator is required to perform quality checks to ensure the parts are meeting the customers specifications.
Essential Job Functions:
- Produces assigned products in accordance with verbal and written instructions.
- Operate different machinery within the department including preventive maintenance.
- Records quality checks, quantity of parts produced, and scrap for each job.
- Inspect parts using blueprints, calipers, micrometers.
- Notify manager of product discrepancies and machinery/equipment malfunctions.
- Set and remove coils for work orders.
- Completed products are boxed/packaged/placed in tubs to be weighed and prepare for shipping.
- Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner to include returning items to designated areas.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures especially safety regulations.
- Willing to assist and help coworkers with a positive attitude.
- Operation of forklift to move product and coils.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior use of micrometers, calipers, and reading blueprints.
- Mechanical abilities to trouble shoot and adjust machinery.
- Mathematical aptitude.
- High attention to detail while being able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Reliable and dependable work history.
- Ability to work independently but also as a team.
- Able to lift to 25 pounds.
Experience:
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Exposure to: CNC, stamping, multi-slide, punch press, drill press, lathe, and grinders.
- Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
