What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Worker II position at Slidell Memorial Hospital?
Responsible for the light food preparation and delivery of patient and cafeteria food with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards, following established food production programs and procedures.
Major Duties:
Responsible for sanitation activities. Performs customer service (AIDET method) in patient meal delivery and retrieval of used trays from patient rooms as well as assisting in line service in the cafeteria. May be responsible for cleaning the service lines. The Food Service Worker II will spend the majority of their day on their feet and/or walking and will have high number of customer/patient interactions throughout the day. Performs light food prep as instructed by management. No heavy cooking is required. Possesses excellent customer service skills in regards to patients, patients' guests and cafeteria guests. Follows the AIDET method of customer service. Sets up stations with breads, beverages, condiments, disposable plates, china and utensils. May start, serve and restock tray line. Stocks and cleans cafeteria service areas and may fill bottled soda machine. Lifts and moves supplies, aiding in filling and delivering floor stock supplies as requested. Delivers patient carts to nursing units, passes and picks up patient food trays. Cleans and sanitizes patient delivery carts after they have been emptied of soiled trays. Clean and sanitize work stations, counters, steam tables and other equipment. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the organization.
Must be able to read, write and perform simple math. Previous experience preferred and high school diploma or GED
