Slick Raven Marketing is looking to add another graphic designer to our team. LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY. This role is perfect for someone who loves rebranding or building brands from the ground up and has a proven background in logo creation, illustration, and full brand identity systems. You will report directly to Slick Raven’s owner and collaborate closely with our marketing team on client projects across multiple industries.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with branding, rebranding, logo creation, and building full brand kits.
- Illustration skills and ability to create custom graphics beyond basic templates.
- Strong understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
- Proficiency with and ownership of professional design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage your own time effectively.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, creative, and eager to produce high quality work.
- A strong portfolio that showcases branding and illustration work.
- Experience working within agency or multi-client environments.
- Ability to create graphics for digital platforms including social media, websites, and advertising.
- Knowledge of preparing files for both print and digital use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with motion graphics or simple animation is a plus.
- Photography or videography experience is a bonus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Create complete branding systems including logos, color palettes, typography selections, and brand guidelines.
- Develop custom illustrations and graphics for client projects.
- Produce visuals for web, social, ads, and print materials.
- Collaborate with the internal team on creative strategy and deliverables.
- Communicate with clients during branding or design phases as needed.
- Maintain organized project files and respond to revisions in a timely manner.
- Stay up to date on design trends, best practices, and tools.
Job Details
- Part time W2 position to start with the opportunity to grow into full time.
- Freelancers are welcome to apply. We support designers who wish to keep their freelance practice alongside this role.
- Fully remote position with once a month in person team meetups in the Kalamazoo or Elkhart area.
- Candidates must live in or near Southwest Michigan or Northern Indiana or be willing to travel to monthly meetups.
- Candidates must have a home office with reliable high-speed internet and their own professional design software.
- Compensation will be discussed based on hours, experience, and portfolio strength.
