Laundry Attendant
Location: Sleep Inn, Merrillville, IN
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Pay: $12–$14 per hour (based on experience)
Job Summary
Sleep Inn is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our Housekeeping team. The Laundry Attendant is responsible for washing, drying, folding, and organizing hotel linens while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient laundry area. This position plays a key role in ensuring our guests receive clean, fresh linens every day.
Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel linens, towels, pillowcases, blankets, and uniforms.
- Operate commercial washers, dryers, and folding equipment safely.
- Inspect linens for stains, damage, and wear; separate damaged items.
- Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Restock housekeeping linen closets as needed.
- Follow all hotel safety, sanitation, and chemical handling procedures.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist the housekeeping department when needed.
- Maintain productivity while meeting hotel quality standards.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel laundry or housekeeping experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, push, pull, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
