- Operates painting equipment and auxiliary equipment.
- Tests and mixes paint as required.
- Keeps paint pots supplied with paint of correct quality.
- Starts up and shuts down the equipment as required.
- Observes rods on conveyors as they pass through the unit, culling out crooked rods.
- Keeps rods separated and packaged for each separate size and grade. Paints identification color on protectors.
- Responsible for quality and quantity of work helpers.
- Obtains reasonable production with minimum supervision.
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
- Informs supervisor of any malfunction of equipment.
- Two year technical degree or equivalent education and/or experience. Valid driver's license in state of residence required.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs regularly, and 100 lbs occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Employee is required to occasionally walk in customer field locations which may include inclines, uneven surfaces, and a variety of weather conditions.
- Employee must be able to regularly bend, stoop, crawl, lay down, twist and push.
- Employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to shoes/boots, hard hats, or respirators.
