Position Overview

The Logistics Lead for Alaska is responsible for executing and managing end-to-end logistics operations in Alaska, with a mission to deliver cost-efficient solutions while ensuring outstanding service quality to remote field operations across the North Slope and Kenai peninsula. Operating in such a remote and challenging environment demands creative problem-solving, meticulous planning, and a strong focus on safety and compliance.

Sucessful candidates must reside in the surrounding areas of Anchorage, Alaska.

The Senior Logistics Lead will collaborate with diverse teams and external partners to maintain a reliable supply chain under tough Arctic conditions, including extreme weather and seasonal constraints (e.g. winter “ice road” season when overland access is possible). The ideal candidate is an experienced logistics professional (7 years in the field) with a background in energy, FMCG or construction industries, proven leadership abilities, and expertise in multi-modal transportation (air, road, rail, and marine). This position carries significant responsibility for ensuring that operations in Alaska are supported by timely, efficient, and compliant logistics services that enable uninterrupted field activities despite geographical and logistical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all domestic and US-CA logistics for Alaska, ensuring compliance and seamless coordination across borders.
  • Serve as the primary contact for logistics issues, resolving disruptions and driving cost efficiencies.
  • Deliver timely, cost-effective logistics support to remote field operations across Alaska.
  • Engage internal stakeholders regularly to align logistics plans with operational needs.
  • Design and lead logistics network improvement projects to increase transport capacity, lower costs and enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Monitor and improve service provider performance through data-driven reviews.
  • Report and escalate service issues promptly, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Enforce process adherence and drive continuous improvement across logistics workflows.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including CFR49 and IATA guidelines.
  • Optimize routing and load planning using internal tools and contracted carrier rates.
  • Manage work orders, cost approvals, and freight bidding to secure optimal transport solutions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and leverage systems for shipment tracking and reporting.
  • Analyze logistics KPIs and performance insights to drive improvements.
