Position Summary
Slater Brothers Enterprise is seeking an experienced Underground Utilities Foreman to lead field operations on commercial underground utility and excavation projects throughout Kentucky & surrounding areas.
This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing daily field operations while actively supporting the crew in the field. The Foreman is accountable for safety, production, quality, scheduling, equipment, and crew performance while serving as the primary liaison between the field and Project Management.
Responsibilities
As the Underground Utilities Foreman, you will:
- Lead and supervise daily field operations.
- Plan weekly work activities and establish production goals.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety standards.
- Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, grades, and elevations.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Oversee the installation of water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and related underground utility systems.
- Monitor production and maintain project schedules.
- Maintain quality control throughout all phases of construction.
- Coordinate vehicle and equipment utilization and routine maintenance.
- Complete daily production reports, quantity tracking, and project documentation.
- Communicate project progress, field conditions, delays, and potential issues with Project Management.
- Train, mentor, and develop crew members while maintaining accountability to company standards.
- Maintain organized, professional, and safe jobsites.

QualificationsRequired
- Five (5) or more years of underground utility or excavation experience.
- Two (2) or more years of experience leading field crews.
- Experience installing water mains, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA excavation and trench safety requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Pipe laser and grade control experience
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
