Slate Studios is a premier NYC content studio merging classic photographic craft with next-gen automation and AI/CGI. We deliver scalable, conversion-driven PDP content for the world’s leading luxury brands.
RoleSlate is seeking a freelance systems specialist to design and implement a barcode-driven, automated e-commerce photography workflow that eliminates the need for outside softwares.
This project will establish a repeatable, tech-assisted ecosystem that streamlines shot-list creation, asset tracking, and QC across high-volume studio production. You’ll architect the tools, logic, and templates that enable efficient product intake through delivery — empowering our producers and photographers to move faster without sacrificing accuracy or creative integrity.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and deploy a barcode scanning system that links physical samples to digital shot lists, file names, and delivery folders.
Build automated shot-list generation tools (Airtable, Sheets, or custom app) with integrated capture notes, SKUs, and production metadata.
Develop intake → capture → delivery workflows that sync across studio and retouching teams.
Prototype, document, and train staff on new software and process standards.
Integrate data points such as SKU, category, colorway, and angle count to dynamically generate Capture One sessions and file-naming structures.
Ensure scalability for ghost mannequin, laydown, on-form, beauty macro, and accessories workflows.
Audit performance post-launch and optimize for throughput, reject rate, and data consistency.
Proven experience designing or implementing barcode-based asset-tracking or e-commerce photo systems.
Strong knowledge of Capture One, Adobe CC, and spreadsheet/database automation (Airtable, Google Sheets, or Notion formulas).
Experience with API integrations or light scripting (Python, JavaScript, or Zapier/n8n) preferred.
Understanding of studio production environments and PDP content workflows.
Exceptional organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently, deliver quickly, and hand off a self-sustaining system.
Duration: Project-based contract (estimated 4–8 weeks)
