Who We Are Looking For

Slate is looking for a dynamic, experienced End of Line (EOL) Technician Group Leader to join our growing team. This position will focus on leading EOL testing operations, diagnostics, repair validation, and final quality assurance before vehicle release. The role will utilize core technical and quality skills to ensure vehicles meet all functional and cosmetic standards. The expectation will be to work closely with internal and external partners to ensure we exceed customers’ expectations.

What You Get To Do

  • Develop and implement process inspections according to the control plans and inspection processes defined.
  • Oversee assembly operations for quality technicians, including testing procedures, instrument maintenance, and quality assurance practices.
  • Coordinate internal audits ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements for the assembly areas.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to support line inspection needs in manufacturing and processes.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to improve measurement accuracy and efficiency for quality control of the assembly processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to assembly quality processes.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Provide technical expertise in assembly quality processes, guiding decision-making for measurement systems and improvements with the quality technicians in the assembly areas.
  • Experience with vehicle inspections, repairs, electrical, and software data interpretation for vehicles.
  • Assembly production environments require hands-on technical work.
  • Interaction with cross-functional teams and internal auditors.
  • Develop and implement quality processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with various teams to ensure quality and metrology requirements are developed and seamlessly integrated into the manufacturing process.
  • Perform audits and inspections: Regularly audit and inspect manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with the supplier quality team to set and monitor quality expectations for incoming materials and components, ensuring parts standards are used and understood.
  • Enforce quality processes and standards for quality in assembly: Work with development, product management, and manufacturing teams to define quality processes and technical standards for metrology requirements.
  • Provide quality support: Offer quality support to technical and manufacturing teams, driving and supporting daily operations with a focus on assembly quality.
  • Lead and mentor team leaders to ensure consistent execution of quality standards and foster leadership development within the quality organization.
  • Additional duties: Perform other duties as assigned, including those related to quality in assembly.
  • Lead and manage a team of EOL technicians and team leaders, providing guidance, training, and performance oversight.
  • Oversee EOL testing operations including diagnostics, functional checks, repair validation, and final quality assurance.
  • Develop and implement EOL inspection procedures and control plans aligned with vehicle release criteria.
  • Coordinate internal audits and final inspections to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve EOL issues and support vehicle release readiness.
  • Evaluate and implement new diagnostic tools and technologies to improve EOL testing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to EOL processes and vehicle systems.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Provide technical expertise in EOL processes, guiding decision-making for diagnostics and repair validation.
  • Experience with vehicle inspections, electrical diagnostics, software data interpretation, and final release procedures.
  • Hands-on involvement in EOL production environments with cross-functional team interaction.
  • Lead and mentor team leaders to ensure consistent execution of EOL standards and foster leadership development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to EOL testing and vehicle release.

What You Bring To The Team

The role will be expected to have high integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness and strive to exhibit a positive and growth mindset. You will feel comfortable operating in a flexible and fast paced environment with a collaborative approach to achieving goals! You’ll also bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering or quality assurance and control within a manufacturing environment. Alternatively, 12 years of experience in a technical-related industry as a technician.
  • Working with Supplied single and 3 phase power systems and or high voltage systems.
  • Working with maintaining and repairing systems to include but not limited to controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatic fuel systems, mechanical and electrical systems and components.
  • Able to lead others on inspecting components for defects in the vehicle such as wire harness, loose connections and accuracy of assembly and installation.
  • Able lead others to adjust, repair, or replace defect components based on analysis of test results, following schematics or wiring diagrams, job instructions, handbooks, or other technical documents.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repair of various sensors, electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience of performing quality assurance at the completion of all repair tasks.
  • Auditing all completed work using appropriate manuals and procedures.
  • Conducting operational checks of systems to ensure proper working conditions of components with various systems on control systems, instrument panels and other technical systems.
  • Proven experience as a team leader within automotive OEM, Tier 1, or military industries.
  • Experience in wire harnesses, technical repair of vehicles or aircraft with a focus on quality validation and process improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Inspecting others’ work and signing off on such work prior to being sent to the next operation.
  • Meticulous in maintaining accurate documentation and precise quality systems while effectively guiding others.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and fast-paced environments.
  • Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned, including those related to quality.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, high assertiveness, entrepreneurial thinking, and goal- and result-oriented decision-making abilities.
  • Proven track record of engaging and participating in high-performing teams.
  • Good working knowledge of process quality documentation.
  • High level of integrity and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
