Slane Co. is partnering with a well-established heavy civil contractor to identify an experienced Civil Estimator. This is an opportunity to join a close-knit team that values thoughtful estimating, long-term relationships, and quality over quantity when it comes to pursuing work.
What You'll Do
- Prepare complete estimates for heavy civil and site development projects
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop project pricing
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals
- Develop competitive, turnkey estimates from start to finish
- Collaborate with operations to ensure accurate project budgeting and constructability
- Participate in bid reviews and project handoffs
What We're Looking For
- 5 years of estimating experience within heavy civil construction or site development
- Experience estimating earthwork, grading, underground utilities, storm drainage, erosion control, and related civil scopes
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and constructability
- Experience preparing complete project estimates with minimal oversight
- Experience with estimating software such as Bid2Win and AGTEK (including Gradework, Underground, and Materials) or similar platforms, is preferred
