Who You’ll Work With
The Workday Technology Lead – Integrations & Extend is a member of Slalom’s Enterprise Business Applications team, working in partnership with our clients to ensure maximum value out of their Workday investment.
We are seeking an experienced Workday technical lead to join our team and play a critical role in engaging with clients, estimating project scope, crafting compelling sales collateral, and architecting and delivering on projects. This role is pivotal in scaling Slalom’s Workday technical delivery capabilities, driving innovation through Extend, and ensuring seamless integration across client delivery.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in Workday Integrations and Extend implementations and ongoing support, a strong understanding of client business drivers, and the ability to translate client requests into thoughtful and value-driven solutions.
You will also support Workday customers at every stage of the lifecycle including early strategy and selection, implementation, and ensuring continued success after go-live.
This role may be based in any of our Slalom US based office locations.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range for a Senior Principal is $140,000-258,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.

What You’ll Do
- This is both a lead and delivery role. The Workday Technology Lead will build the practice and deliver on projects.
- Estimate, Architect and implement scalable Workday solutions.
- Define and evolve technical delivery standards and reusable assets for Workday integrations and Extend applications.
- Act as a thought leader in Workday Extend, guiding clients through custom app development and governance.
- Support integration health reviews and optimization strategies post go-live.
- Lead a high-performing team of Workday technical consultants, ensuring delivery excellence across integrations and Extend.
- Provide expert guidance on best practices and emerging trends to clients.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams and clients to understand client challenges and Workday-related project requests.
- Develop detailed project estimates, including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Participate in client presentations to articulate the proposed solution and address questions.
- Stay current with Workday product updates, industry trends, and competitive landscape to continuously enhance solution offerings.
- Support pre-sales activities such as RFP responses and sales leads.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, as needed.
- 8 years of Workday implementation experience, with deep expertise in Integrations and building a team of experienced consultants. Extend experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Workday Studio, EIB, Cloud Connect, and Workday Orchestrate.
- Demonstrated success in building and mentoring technical teams, including hiring, onboarding, and career development.
- Experience with integration lifecycle management, including monitoring, error handling, and performance tuning.
- Proven leadership experience in managing a team.
- Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Workday certifications in Integrations (or equivalent experience) required. Extend certification is a plus.
- Proven ability to estimate Workday project scope and timeline accurately.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, delivery, and product management.
- Ability to see around corners thinking about both the big picture and individual needs.
- Willingness to travel as required.
