- Support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
- Assist in supervising warehouse staff, ensuring safety protocols are followed and productivity targets are met.
- Coordinate transportation planning and logistics with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and carriers to optimize freight movement and reduce costs.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems to track inventory levels, process orders, and analyze supply chain data for process improvement opportunities.
- Implement lean methodologies and continuous improvement strategies to enhance warehouse efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline workflows.
- Manage procurement activities related to materials purchasing, ensuring timely availability of stock for production planning and demand fulfillment.
- Support budgeting processes by monitoring expenses related to warehouse operations, freight, and inventory management.
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or operations management within a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles including inventory control, demand planning, logistics, and transportation management systems.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like AS400, and supply chain analytics tools.
- Familiarity with freight forwarding concepts such as NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations and 3PL partnerships.
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques including lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to lead teams effectively with supervising experience in warehouse or logistics settings.
- Proficiency in forklift operation certification, dispatching, fleet management, materials management, purchasing, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management, procurement processes, and transportation planning.
