What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visiting Scientist - IP position at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory?
SLAC Job Postings
The candidate will support the development of agentic AI workflows that integrate detector physics simulation, device-level characterization, and ASIC design tools to co-optimize chip performance and radiation hardness simultaneously. This includes contributing to the design and implementation of the workflow architecture, as well as benchmarking AI-driven co-optimization runs against conventional ASIC design flows on representative front-end circuit blocks. The work combines machine learning, detector instrumentation, and microelectronics design, contributing to SLAC's efforts to develop next-generation radiation-hard readout electronics for high-energy physics experiments.
