Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Food Service Worker role located in Jacksonville, FL. The Food Service Worker will assist with daily meal preparation, including portioning, assembling, and serving food in a school setting while following established menus and guidelines. Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down serving lines, maintaining a clean and organized work area, operating basic kitchen equipment, and following food safety and sanitation procedures. The role also involves providing friendly, efficient service to students and school staff, handling basic cashiering or point-of-sale tasks as needed, and supporting inventory, restocking, and dishwashing. This position works as part of a team to ensure meals are served on time and meet SLA and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Food Preparation and Food Service in a cafeteria, restaurant, or similar environment.
- Knowledge of Food Safety practices, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to provide positive, patient, and responsive Customer Service to students, staff, and visitors.
- Experience with Food & Beverage operations, such as portion control, menu items, and basic kitchen equipment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry up to 25–30 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork, reliability, and time management skills, with punctual and consistent attendance.
- Previous school foodservice experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to pass required background checks.
