Position Summary:
SLA Management is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to join our team at Rocketship United. This role is perfect for a dependable, friendly individual who enjoys working in a team-oriented environment. You’ll assist with meal preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean, welcoming dining area—helping ensure every student receives a nutritious meal served with care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service and create a positive dining experience for students and staff.
- Assist with preparing, portioning, and serving meals according to SLA standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in food prep, serving, and dining areas.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe environment.
- Restock food, utensils, and supplies as needed throughout the day.
- Assist with kitchen setup and cleanup before and after meal service.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient operations.
Qualifications:
- Experience in school food service, particularly in high-volume settings, preferred.
- Knowledge of NSLP/NSBP and CACFP programs a plus.
- Must have early childhood food service experience and an understanding of reporting requirements.
- Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.
- Food safety and sanitation knowledge preferred (training provided if needed).
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions with attention to detail.
