Job Profile Summary Work across the full stack of our customer experience application for Sysco’s 400,000 customers to submit $50B in annual revenue through touching the lives of millions of end consumers at restaurants as well as tens of thousands of Sysco employees. Responsible for the technical leadership of and execution of mission critical software development tasks as defined by product managers across multiple products. Provide deep and broad technical thought leadership to the quality and end-to-end functionality of committed code for all members of the CX software engineering team. Operate as an expert-level individual contributor and develop enterprise-grade software with minimal technical oversight on multiple products, owning the implementation of architecturally significant projects across the organization.
Description
We are seeking a skilled Software Architect specializing in backend technologies to design, implement, and optimize scalable systems that enhance our eCommerce solution. This role involves leading technical strategy, developing robust architectures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to delivercapabilities.
Essential Functions:
Architect and Design:Partner with product managers to understand business needs, develop high-level designs, and guide engineering teams to implement solutions effectively.
Strategic Leadership: Define the technical vision and roadmap aligned with business goals.
System Integration:Integrate enterprise systems, real-time data processing pipelines, and third-party tools into the eCommerce platform.
Performance Optimization:Simplify architecture and overall system response times through continuous tuning and experimentation.
Governance:Establish coding standards, architecture best practices, and technical documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related, or equivalent work experience.
• 10 years experience in custom software development in Java/Javascript or iOS/Android.
• Experience in an agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience with Java/NodeJs, Spring Framework and ORM frameworks.
Proficiency in Spring framework, Cloud Technologies, API orchestration frameworks such as GraphQL
Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and caching solutions.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to mentor and supervise junior onsite/offshore architects onsite
Strong communication, mentoring and collaboration skills.
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Knowledge of performance tuning, and DevSecOps practices.
Background in real-time data processing (e.g., Kafka) and data modeling.
Experience in implementing security protocols, advanced authorization strategies would be an added advantage.
Excellent leadership and negotiation skills with the ability to clearly propose and articulate architecture and technology decisions.
