In a shop environment, the technician will perform sing, troubleshooting, and component repairs. The technician may also be required to work on aircraft systems, including the following:
- Perform avionics checks and troubleshoot aircraft systems as needed.
- Maintain proficiency in completing all required documentation and paperwork.
- Repair avionics and electronic components in an avionics shop environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Hold a valid, unrestricted, driver’s license
- Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret wiring manuals and schematics.
- Effectively use component maintenance manuals to troubleshoot and s components.
- Effectively use aircraft manuals to troubleshoot and repair avionics and electrical systems.
- Possess basic avionics skills.
- Exercise sound judgment when working with others in a team environment and in matters related to aircraft maintenance and safety.
- Possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license.
- Provide the minimum required set of tools.
- Graduation from an accredited avionics school.
- Military training in avionics or electronics.
- An associate degree or higher in electronics.
- Eighteen months of experience in the avionics industry.
- A&P certification with prior avionics experience.
Physical And Other Requirements
- Routinely lift up to 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position.
