SkyWater is partnering with a growing, family-owned specialty contractor who is looking to hire a Commercial Estimator for their Twin Cities team! Our client is a well-established, multi-generational family business with a strong presence across the Upper Midwest and a diversified portfolio of operating companies. They have been steadily growing through strategic acquisitions and are continuing to build out their operation in the Northwest metro. The Estimator will be responsible for managing the full commercial estimating cycle from bid development & takeoffs through relationship management, deal closing, and project handoff to the installation team. These projects are typically located across the Twin Cities metro (some across MN in general) and they include data centers, government facilities, corporate campuses, and commercial construction sites. Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed material take-offs, cost estimates, and project specifications for commercial projects.
• Review plans, drawings, and bid documents to develop accurate & competitive proposals.
• Meet with contractors, developers, and clients to build relationships, negotiate terms, and close deals.
• Expand services with existing clients and maintain a strong commercial sales pipelines.
• Partner with branch leadership to analyze performance reports (backlog, estimated vs. actual, callbacks, etc.).
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities as needed.
• Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
  
  

Desired Skills And Experience

• High School Diploma required (Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree preferred).
• 1-3 years of estimating experience in construction, metal fabrication, or a related industry.
• Understanding of pre-construction processes including plans, specs, and scope development.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and stay organized.
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
