The Vice President of Consumer Loan Operations leads and oversees all aspects of the credit union’s consumer loan operations, ensuring smooth, compliant processes while delivering exceptional service to our members. This role is responsible for continuously enhancing and maintaining team performance, ensuring service excellence at all levels. The position works closely with the Training Department to foster team development and collaborates with the Chief Lending Officer to align operations with the broader corporate strategy.
Leadership & Supervision of Loan Operations
o Oversee the day-to-day operations of the consumer lending department, ensuring efficient, accurate processing that aligns with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
o Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency, quality, and financial metrics.
Team Leadership & Development
o Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing team of loan specialists and administrators.
o Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, coaching, and addressing staffing challenges.
o Foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement, working closely with the Training Department to identify and fill knowledge gaps.
o Drive sales and incentives by leading the team to meet or exceed goals in areas such as ancillary product sales and cross-selling.
Process Improvement & Change Management
o Identify opportunities to improve loan processing systems, recommending and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
o Continuously evaluate and refine loan processing procedures to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
o Lead and manage change initiatives within the department to optimize operations.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
o Ensure all loan operations strictly adhere to federal and state regulations and industry best practices.
o Stay updated on changes in lending laws and best practices, applying this knowledge to maintain compliance.
Member Experience & Technology
o Champion initiatives that keep member experience at the forefront of loan operations, balancing the need for compliance with excellent service delivery.
o Drive innovation in lending technology to improve both operational efficiency and member satisfaction.
o Address escalated member concerns and resolve complex loan-related issues to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
Reporting & Documentation
o Prepare and present regular performance reports on loan operations to senior management.
o Ensure loan documentation is complete, accurate, and securely stored in accordance with company standards.
Other Duties
o Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of lending experience in a credit union, bank, or financial institution, with at least 2 years in a management role.
In-depth knowledge of consumer lending
Strong understanding of lending regulations, compliance, and credit risk management.
Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in loan origination and lending software.

Pay: $68,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
