Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

The Vice President of Information Technology is a newly created role responsible for architecting and building the Company’s entire technology infrastructure from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CFO, the VP of IT will establish the enterprise IT strategy, own all corporate and operational technology (OT) systems, lead cybersecurity programs, and oversee the SCADA and EMS platforms that monitor and control our generation fleet. This executive will build and lead a high-performing internal IT organization, manage strategic vendor and managed service relationships, and ensure that the Company’s technology capabilities scale in lockstep with an aggressive asset growth trajectory. This is a rare opportunity to define and build a best-in-class IT function within a well-capitalized, rapidly-growing renewable energy platform.

Responsibilities & Duties

IT Strategy & Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year IT roadmap aligned with corporate growth objectives, operational requirements, and capital deployment timelines.
  • Serve as the primary technology advisor to the executive leadership team; present to the Board of Directors on technology risk, investment, and strategy.
  • Build, recruit, and mentor a high-performing IT team - including enterprise systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and OT disciplines - scaling the organization as the asset portfolio grows.
  • Establish IT governance structures, policies, procedures, and service-level standards across all corporate and field operations.
  • Manage the IT capital and operating budget, optimizing total cost of ownership while investing in future-state capabilities.

Enterprise Architecture & Infrastructure:

  • Design and implement a scalable enterprise IT architecture encompassing on-premises, cloud and/or hybrid environments.
  • Oversee corporate network infrastructure including WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, data centers, and remote site connectivity for operating assets distributed across multiple regional markets.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of enterprise platforms including ERP, EAMS (Enterprise Asset Management), GIS, document management, and financial reporting systems.
  • Establish and maintain robust disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP) capabilities across all critical IT systems.
  • Drive cloud migration and optimization initiatives, ensuring secure, high-availability architectures appropriate for 24/7 energy operations.

SCADA, OT & Energy Management Systems:

  • Provide executive ownership of the SCADA and Energy Management System (EMS) infrastructure used to monitor, control, and optimize wind, solar, and battery storage assets.
  • Lead the integration of OT environments with corporate IT systems, ensuring data flows, historian platforms, and reporting tools deliver actionable operational intelligence.
  • Oversee vendor management and lifecycle planning for SCADA/DCS platforms, RTUs, data historians, and related operational technology.
  • Define standards for plant-level network architecture, including firewall segmentation, remote access, and the IT/OT demilitarized zone (DMZ).
  • Partner with Asset Management and Engineering teams to deploy advanced analytics, predictive maintenance, and performance monitoring capabilities.

Cybersecurity:

  • Establish and lead an enterprise cybersecurity program encompassing both IT and OT environments, with a risk-based approach appropriate for a FERC-regulated generation owner.
  • Ensure compliance with NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP) standards as applicable to the company's bulk electric system assets; manage all associated audits and documentation.
  • Oversee Security Operations Center (SOC) functions - whether in-house or via managed security service provider (MSSP) - including 24/7 monitoring, incident response, and threat intelligence.
  • Lead the company's third-party / supply chain risk management program, ensuring cybersecurity requirements flow down to EPC contractors, O&M providers, and technology vendors.
  • Develop and maintain an incident response plan; conduct regular tabletop exercises with Operations, Legal, and Finance stakeholders.

Operational Technology & Field Systems:

  • Define standards for remote monitoring and control infrastructure at generation sites, including communications redundancy (fiber, cellular, satellite) and failover capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Development, Construction, and O&M teams to establish IT/OT requirements at the project level - from COD through long-term operations.
  • Support project finance, M&A due diligence, and acquisition integration by assessing IT and OT infrastructure of target assets.
  • Manage relationships with key OT vendors and renewable energy SCADA specialists.

Digital Transformation & Innovation:

  • Drive digital transformation initiatives across development, construction, and operations functions - including mobile workforce tools, digital twins, drone inspection platforms, and AI-assisted analytics.
  • Champion data strategy and governance; build the data architecture and BI infrastructure to support operational KPIs, executive dashboards, and regulatory reporting.
  • Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies (machine learning, IoT edge computing, generative AI) for application to asset performance management and operational efficiency.

Vendor, Contract & Budget Management:

  • Lead RFP/RFQ processes and negotiate enterprise contracts with hardware, software, telecommunications, and managed service providers.
