Transportation Logistics Specialist
Location: Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077
Pay Rate: $47.77–$48.02/hour
Contract Length: 3–6 months
Schedule: Hybrid (Onsite Monday, Tuesday, Thursday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM)
Additional Info: Must be open to occasional overtime during harvest season

Position Overview
The Transportation Logistics Specialist will ensure efficient truck transportation of materials and products for the Our Partner and Energy Platforms. This role involves selecting cost-effective transportation solutions, providing accurate freight pricing, and maintaining strong carrier relationships. You will also communicate market insights and shipping requirements to internal stakeholders and third-party carriers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Our client transportation carrier management strategy through:
- Rate negotiations
- Relationship and capacity management
- Shipment execution
- Carrier segmentation and spend management
- Negotiate competitive rates and contract terms with carriers
- Maximize load pairing (backhauls) and create value across product lines
- Analyze transportation operations for process and cost improvements
- Serve as subject matter expert on transportation markets and rates
- Ensure third-party transportation relationships are profitable and aligned with our client goals
- Monitor carrier performance and KPIs; implement corrective actions as needed
- Maintain accurate data in TMS (Master Mind), spreadsheets, and internal systems
- Resolve freight invoice issues to ensure timely and accurate payments
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of freight markets and transportation operations
- Ability to work independently under general supervision
- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills
- Proficiency in transportation management systems and data management

Pay: $47.77 - $50.00 per hour
