Founding Software Engineer - Hypergrowth Social AI Startup
San Francisco, CA (you can work from home up to 3 days/week)
The company’s agentic AI system facilitates real-life social connections.
The company has raised $10 million in seed funding from top VCs.
The company has 8 employees and 3 engineers and is rapidly growing; they expect to reach 20 employees in the next 6 months.
The company will pay very competitive salary. They actually are open to a salary as high as $600k, however candidates should expect that whatever salary they can get at this company would be much less cash than what they could be getting at big tech companies. The focus of the compensation package would be the equity which could be very lucrative.
Job Responsibilities:
- Owning the development of new customer-facing social networking features.
- Depending on your preference you could work anywhere from 100% backend to full stack to 100% front end.
- Collaborating with product designers and leadership to create cutting-edge products.
- Building internal tools for the team as well as for AI.
- Optimizing applications for speed and scale.
Qualifications:
- Relevant engineering experience at tech and product-driven companies.
- Proficiency with fundamental data structures and algorithms.
- Either A) Proficiency with TypeScript, React, Next.js and/or other web technologies, or B) Interested and able to learn our tech stack quickly, and having proficiency with other languages and frameworks.
Nice to have:
- Experience with microservice architecture using a variety of infrastructure services such as RabbitMQ.
- Experience with non-relational databases such as MongoDB and Redis.
- Experience with AI/ML pipelines.
- Ability to move fast in an environment where things are sometimes loosely defined and may have competing priorities or deadlines.
- Proficiency with Node.js, React, TypeScript, and Next.js
