The Mid-Level Developer builds, optimizes, and scales web platforms and technical systems that power Skyrocket Studios’ digital products and marketing infrastructure.

Where You’ll Lead

This role combines advanced website development, cloud integrations, AI-driven features, and marketing technology implementations. The position also supports technical leadership by mentoring junior developers and contributing to technical strategy, ensuring the agency delivers high-performing, scalable, and innovative digital solutions.

Website Development

• Design, develop, and optimize high-performing websites using WordPress and Shopify, ensuring adherence to modern coding standards and responsive design principles.

• Build advanced WordPress websites using Elementor and custom theme development.

• Develop Shopify and Shopify Plus websites, including Liquid template customization and third-party app integrations.

• Create and manage API integrations that enhance functionality and system efficiency.

• Provide technical guidance to junior developers and support debugging, code reviews, and adherence to development best practices.

• Develop and integrate AI-powered features and agents using Gemini Enterprise and the Agent Development Kit (ADK).
• Integrate Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services into web applications using Cloud APIs and Vertex AI.
• Build lightweight data engineering workflows such as data pipelines using Cloud Functions and BigQuery.
• Support scalable data infrastructure that enables analytics, automation, and AI-driven insights.

• Manage source code repositories and maintain organized content management workflows.
• Establish development standards across frontend and backend systems to maintain consistency and performance.
• Conduct testing, debugging, and optimization to ensure stability and performance of deployed websites and applications.

• Architect and implement advanced Martech integrations such as Facebook Conversion API, Google Tag Manager, GA4, and other analytics tools.
• Design complex data layer structures and event tracking systems to support marketing performance measurement.
• Optimize website performance while maintaining accurate analytics tracking.
• Troubleshoot data integrity issues related to marketing analytics and tracking implementations.

• Participate in brainstorming sessions and pitch presentations by providing technical insights and solution recommendations.
• Translate technical concepts into accessible explanations for clients and internal teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation that supports scalability and knowledge sharing across the development team.

• Conduct QA reviews to ensure deliverables meet quality standards before deployment.
• Support the Head of Technology in building training programs and upskilling initiatives for the development team.
• Provide workflow oversight and guidance when the Head of Technology is unavailable.
• Mentor junior developers and support team efficiency through constructive feedback and workflow improvements.

• Research emerging technologies in web development, AI, cloud computing, and e-commerce platforms.
• Recommend new tools and development approaches that enhance performance and innovation.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to refine technical expertise.
• Share knowledge and best practices with the development team to encourage continuous improvement.

• Contribute to internal missions and continuous improvement initiatives by supporting the development of processes, systems, workflows, and operational improvements that enhance team efficiency and overall business operations
• Explore and apply AI tools, automation, and emerging technologies where appropriate to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and support smarter ways of working across the organization.
• Participate in cross-functional mission projects and initiatives that drive innovation, operational excellence, and scalable solutions for the company.

Desirable skills, knowledge or experience  

• Experience with AI integrations and cloud infrastructure, particularly Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of data engineering workflows including BigQuery and Cloud Functions.
• Experience building custom WordPress plugins or Shopify apps.
• Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue for headless implementations.
• Strong understanding of technical SEO, web performance optimization, and accessibility standards (WCAG).

Required education and qualifications (certifications, licenses, accreditations, etc.)  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Multimedia Arts, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in web development, particularly WordPress and Shopify.
• Advanced proficiency in HTML, CSS, PHP, Liquid, and JavaScript (ES6 ).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, third-party integrations, and database management (MySQL).
• Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform services, including Cloud APIs, BigQuery, and Cloud Functions.
• Experience with AI/ML integrations such as Vertex AI, Gemini Enterprise, or AI agent frameworks.
• Familiarity with server management, DNS configuration, and hosting environments.
• Understanding of web security practices and privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
