Job Description
Sky Lux Transportation is seeking experienced CDL Bus Drivers for school routes in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, Florida.
We are looking for responsible and safety-conscious drivers who currently hold a valid CDL with a Passenger (P) endorsement. At this time, a School Bus (S) endorsement is not required.
This position consists of one morning pickup route and one afternoon pickup route, Monday through Friday, with a flat daily rate. Drivers will also have the opportunity to work weekends if desired.
Shifts are fixed according to the school-year schedule, and weekend work is optional.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for a position with Sky Lux Transportation, applicants must have:
- A valid Class A or Class B CDL
- A Passenger (P) endorsement with at least 2 years of documented experience
- A valid DOT Medical Card
- A clean driving record (no more than 3 points)
- Be at least 25 years of age (insurance requirement)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and participate in random drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to lift luggage weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to pass an extensive background check
- Ability to interpret and follow maps and dispatch instructions
Because this position involves regular interaction with students, parents, and school staff, applicants should have a professional attitude, strong customer service skills, and preferably be fluent in English.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport students according to assigned routes and schedules
- Ensure students are picked up and dropped off at designated locations
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns
- Maintain a clean and professional vehicle appearance
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety procedures
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and management
- Report accidents, incidents, delays, or student concerns promptly
- Assist with loading and unloading luggage when necessary
Schedule
Morning Pick-Up
- Depending on the route, pick-up times may begin at 6:50 AM or 7:05 AM
- Students must arrive on campus by 7:50 AM
Afternoon Return
- Monday through Thursday: 3:45 PM
- Friday: 2:45 PM
