What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping position at Skyline Terrace Nursing Home?
Housekeeper Hours are 6:45AM - 2:45PM
1. Follow cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.)
2. Clean all assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures according to established housekeeping procedures
3. Organizes and inspects (in all areas) all furnishings for wear and defects that could be a safety concern and reports to director of housekeeping
4. Cleans all bathroom areas (resident & private): cleans disinfects all fixtures, floors and walls as directed. Washes all windows and mirrors. Replenishes all bathroom supplies
5. Clean walls, windows, doors, and ceilings: spot cleans between washings. Disinfects as needed.
6. Terminal cleaning/disinfecting when residents have deceased, are discharged, or if there is a transfer and room needs prepared for new occupant
7. Performs all cleaning duties in an isolation area of unit
8. Maintains equipment used in performing duties
9. Window cleaning inside /out
10. All other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
1. Strenuous physical activity involves excessive walking, standing, lifting and bending
2. Able to stretch arms above head: bend to clean under beds / furniture
3. On your feet most of the workday
4. Pushes, pulls, lifts, cleaning equipment and supplies
5. Use of step ladders are available to reach high places
6. Subject to heavy dust and housekeeping chemicals
7. Subject to falls or slipping on wet / soiled floors
