Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of goods within our distribution center. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with warehouse personnel.
Responsibilities
- Operate Stand Up and Sit-down forklift as well as cherry picker and other heavy equipment to load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Must be able to Lift 50lbs, you will sometime need to move material manually by hand
- Utilize a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tracking inventory and managing stock levels.
- Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Conduct order picking activities, preparing products for delivery in accordance with customer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to OSHA safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in the training of new employees on safe equipment operation and warehouse procedures.
Experience
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, as well as inventory management practices, is advantageous.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for tracking inventory is desirable.
