Skyline Med Staff Home Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) OR - Operating Room Director for a nursing job in Thermopolis, Wyoming.

Summary: M-Th/F, Business hours, no weekends or holidays. Call rarely required, if ever. Oversees Outpatient Infusion, Perioperative services, PACU, Endoscopy, 2 ORs, Anesthesia (CRNAs). 15 staff /-.

Wage Range: $50.56-75.00/hr depending on experience

Sign-on Bonus: $25,000 over 2 years

Relocation: Up to $10,000

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

BLS required

Course certification in ACLS required or obtain within one year of employment.

TNCC, CNOR preferred or obtain within one year of employment

Current Wyoming Registered Nurse license or ability to obtain upon hire

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

The Surgical Services Director shall be:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing preferred or equivalent experience required.
  • Five years’ relevant nursing experience required, including two years in supervisory or leadership capacity preferred.
  • Familiarity with Wyoming State Nurse Practice Act and Critical Access Hospital Conditions of Participation preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly manages and supervises all surgical and ambulatory services. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Mentor and coach subordinates. Oversee hiring, training and development of staff as well as performance appraisal, documentation of deficiencies, performance recognition and disciplinary action.
  • Participates as a key member of the nursing leadership team to promote interdepartmental efficiency and collaboration, quality of care, and patient experience.
  • Responsible for maximizing resources, improving cost-effectiveness of clinical services provided, enhancing patient outcomes/satisfaction and achieving critical success factors.
  • Conducts and/or participates in a variety of staff and committee meetings including regularly held surgical committee.
  • Displays financial acumen and resource management, overseeing departmental budget and productivity.
  • Organize, direct, plan and manage the services offered through the PACU, Ambulatory, Infusion, Endoscopy, and Surgery departments and remain in compliance with standards of care determined by regulatory agencies.
  • Provides support to the surgeon, registered nurses, certified surgical techs and CRNA in the operating room.
  • Ensure clinical care is delivered in a safe, effective manner in compliance with relevant statutes, rules and regulations as well as professional practice. Monitors and evaluates new or revised regulatory agency and industry laws, regulations and standards applicable to assigned areas and ensures that assigned activities comply with all requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
