Position Overview:
The Lending Manager is the senior-most lending professional at Skyline Financial Federal Credit Union and is responsible for overseeing the credit union’s entire lending operations. This role includes managing and mentoring lending staff, maintaining and growing a portfolio of new and existing loans, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and internal policies, and overseeing collections. The Lending Manager plays a critical role in achieving the credit union’s growth objectives while maintaining the highest standards of risk management and member service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lending Operations:
- Manage and grow the credit union’s portfolio of consumer, mortgage, and commercial loans.
- Evaluate loan applications and make sound credit decisions in alignment with credit union policies.
- Monitor loan performance, proactively identify risk, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of all loan documentation and closings.
- Develop and implement lending strategies to meet business growth and revenue goals.
2. Staff Leadership and Management:
- Supervise, train, and mentor lending staff, including loan officers and support personnel.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and foster professional development opportunities.
- Establish team goals, track performance metrics, and promote a collaborative, high-performing work culture.
3. Collections and Risk Management:
- Oversee delinquent loans and collections efforts, including restructuring, recovery, and charge-offs as appropriate.
- Maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices.
- Identify potential credit risks and recommend mitigations to senior management.
4. Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements of NCUA, FASB, EOL and other external regulators as it relates to credit unions and internal lending policies.
- Prepare and present loan portfolio performance reports to executive leadership and the board of directors.
- Participate in audits, reviews, and examinations, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
5. Member Relations and Business Development:
- Maintain strong relationships with members, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop products and services that meet member needs.
- Promote lending products through outreach, events, and marketing initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive lending experience, including consumer, mortgage, and commercial lending.
- Proven experience managing and leading a team.
- Strong knowledge of credit union lending regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, members, and senior management.
Compensation and Benefits: $75,000-82,000 annually.
