Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with at least 5 years of earthwork experience. This role involves operating excavators, dozers, and motor graders on construction, sitework, roadway, and bridge projects across Texas.
This is a traveling Heavy Equipment Operator position. Local-only candidates should not apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers (bulldozers), motor graders, rollers
- Perform earthwork, grading, excavation, and site preparation
- Complete rough grading and finish grading to specification
- Read and interpret construction plans, grade stakes, and elevations
- Support road construction and bridge construction projects
- Maintain production while delivering accurate, clean work
- Perform daily inspections of construction equipment
- Follow all jobsite safety standards
Requirements
- 5 years experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator (earthwork required)
- Experience operating excavators, dozers, motor graders, and loaders
- Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, slopes, and sitework
- Ability to read plans, elevations, and grade stakes
- Experience in heavy civil, roadway, or bridge construction preferred
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
- Reliable transportation
Travel Requirements (Important)
- Must be willing to travel throughout Texas
- Projects are located statewide and crews move as needed
- Company-paid hotels provided
- $40/night per diem
- Truck allowance included
Schedule
- Monday–Friday (some Saturdays as needed)
- 8–12 hour shifts depending on project workload
