Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Pantry Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, meal service, and maintaining a clean and efficient pantry area. This role is essential in supporting our culinary operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and providing excellent service to our guests or residents. Experience in dietary departments or culinary settings is preferred, along with a strong understanding of food handling and safety protocols.
Duties
- Prepare and organize ingredients for meal service, including portioning and packaging
- Assist with menu planning and meal assembly based on dietary guidelines or specific menus
- Support food preparation activities such as chopping, mixing, and assembling dishes
- Maintain cleanliness of the pantry area, including sanitizing surfaces and proper storage of supplies
- Handle food items safely, adhering to food safety standards and regulations
- Assist in serving meals to residents or guests in a professional manner
- Support catering events or special meal services as needed
- Ensure proper inventory management by restocking supplies and notifying management of shortages
- Follow all kitchen safety procedures, including knife skills and proper food handling techniques
Experience
- Prior experience in dietary departments, culinary roles, or food service environments is preferred
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety protocols is advantageous
- Background in fine dining, restaurant service, catering, or kitchen operations is a plus
- Knowledge of food industry standards related to food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations
- Skills in cooking, food presentation, and serving are desirable
- Previous experience working with dietary aides or in healthcare dining services will be considered an asset
