Requirements:
- Previous residential garage door experience is required
- Mechanical and technical skills, with a willingness to learn new techniques
- Physically able to move items weighing 75 lbs or higher, and lift garage door panels above the head.
- Able to stand on a ladder for extended periods
- Possess interpersonal skills to relate to customers and solve issues
- Ability to relay information in a fast-paced environment
- Able to self-manage and work independently as well
- Reliable and Self-motivated
- Must have a driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must be able to pass criminal and drug screening
Summary: Due to continued growth, Skylift Garage Doors is adding a Lead Service Technician to our team. This position will focus on residential service calls and installations. You will be responsible for the installation of residential garage door systems and repair of existing systems. You will typically visit multiple homes each day – and no job is ever boring. Managerial Experience is HIGHLY preferred & residential garage door experience is REQUIRED.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be organized, efficient, and have practical problem-solving skills. You will be interacting with our customers daily and having a patient and respectful demeanor is a must, as you represent our garage door company to the greater Knoxville area.
Responsibilities: (This list may not include all the duties assigned)
- Install new garage doors and garage door openers for residential customers.
- Educate customers on parts and services
- Assemble mechanical components
- Adjust and test equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Repair or replace worn or broken door parts using hand tools
- Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair
- Install hardware or other garage door fixtures
