Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Technician - Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our Auto and Fab shop environment. This pivotal role combines technical expertise with leadership, ensuring that all maintenance, repairs, and fabrication activities are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. As a key leader on-site, you will supervise a team of technicians, complete your own repairs and builds, coordinate workflow, and collaborate with project managers to meet project deadlines and budget goals. Your hands-on approach and construction management skills will drive operational excellence and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the shop team in performing maintenance, fabrication, and repair tasks on customer repairs and shop projects
- Coordinate daily work schedules, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively to meet project timelines.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA safety standards and company safety policies; conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
- Review procedures for repairs and fabrication and installation activities accurately.
- Run Mitchell Shop Key and some CAD software for our plasma table
- Conduct quality control inspections using tools like ohmmeters and ensure adherence to project specifications and schematics.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, equipment maintenance logs, and safety documentation; oversee inventory of parts and supplies.
- Collaborate with owner and other managers on budgeting estimates, repair requirements, and project scheduling to optimize workflow.
Skills
- Extensive mechanical experience with a strong understanding of auto repair and customer Projects
- Proven supervising experience leading technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be fully capable of full automotive diagnostics - drive train, electrical, body panel. Able to fully disassemble a vehicle and rebuild
Pay: $32.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
