UAS Operator (RPIC)
SkyfireAI is currently seeking qualified small Uncrewed Aerial Systems (sUAS) Pilots to join our team to support Drone as First Responder (DFR) operations in Birmingham, AL areas. These positions will be onsite.
DFR programs use UAS technology to enhance community safety by significantly reducing on-scene response times, de-escalating situations, and enhancing situational awareness for both citizens and responders. As a DFR Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) at SkyfireAI, you will play a crucial role in ensuring quick response times while upholding professional flight safety standards. This involves maintaining consistent equipment readiness, risk management, a good understanding of UAS related software and hardware, and clear communication skills with team members. Pilots will support and communicate directly with first responders to provide situational awareness.
This role provides a chance to enhance your UAS piloting and systems software skills while accumulating flight hours as a Remote Pilot in Command. SkyfireAI has Part-Time positions available with this opportunity.
sUAS Pilot candidates should possess the appropriate mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and a dedication to safety. SkyfireAI will provide all necessary initial training to equip pilots with the skills required to fulfill our customers' missions.
Job Duties Include:
● Oversee the in-flight performance of drones to guarantee mission safety.
● Sustain visual contact with the drone and monitor airspace during Visual Line Of Sight (VLOS) operations.
● Ensure awareness of airspace regulations during Beyond Visual Line Of Sight (BVLOS) flights, while understanding the permissions of FAA Certificates of Waiver and adhering strictly to FAA rules and guidelines governing small Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (sUAS)operations.
● Maintain strong radio communication skills with the sUAS team and supported responders.
● Conduct troubleshooting of aircraft and network systems to ensure continuous Mission Readiness.
● Complete required reporting and handling of Sensor data.
RPICs requirements:
● Current FAA Part 107 Certificate.
● U.S. Citizen who can speak and write English proficiently.
● Current State issued Driver’s License.
● Minimum of 50 logged flight hours (Preferred DJI M-Series, and Parrott Anafi).
● This position will require successful completion of a CJIS background check.
● Professionalism and reliability.
● The potential for weekend and holiday work.
● Able to climb stairs without assistance while carrying cases.
● Desire to contribute to the growth of an innovative team on the forefront of DFR.
