Job Title: Youth Intervention Specialist
As a Youth Intervention Specialist at Skyfall Residential Homes, you will provide hands-on support, structure, and mentorship to at-risk youth in a therapeutic residential environment. This position focuses on helping residents develop independent living skills, build self-awareness, and achieve their individualized treatment goals. You will work closely with clinicians, case managers, and the broader care team to ensure that interventions are consistent with clinical recommendations and treatment plans. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, and experienced in working with youth in behavioral health or residential settings.
What you’ll do
- Support youth in learning independent living skills, including cooking, laundry, cleaning, and personal care.
- Provide homework assistance and promote educational engagement and success.
- Encourage responsibility and accountability through completion of daily chores and structured routines.
- Offer case management support by ensuring residents are following through on treatment plan objectives.
- Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, and other staff to promote progress toward treatment goals.
- Administer prescribed medications to residents as directed, ensure proper documentation, and sign off that medications were dispensed in accordance with agency and state regulations.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of resident progress, behaviors, incidents, and daily activities.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized care planning.
- Provide crisis intervention when needed, maintaining a calm and therapeutic environment.
- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and consistency in all interactions.
- Assist youth with community outings, appointments, and life-skill building opportunities.
- Ensure that all agency safety, health, and behavioral protocols are consistently followed.
Basic qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Must be able to pass BCI and FBI background checks and meet ODJFS requirements for employment in a QRTP facility.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and support youth effectively.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow medication administration procedures.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable for outings or appointments).
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist (QBHS) or similar behavioral health role strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in a QRTP, residential treatment, or group home setting.
- Training or certification in Medication Administration preferred (will be provided if not already certified).
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, behavioral intervention strategies, and adolescent development.
- Demonstrated cultural and ethical competence in working with diverse populations.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
