How You'll Make An Impact
- Drive architecture design for one of our newest systems
- Work cross functionally between EE, FW, RF, Reliability, and Mechanical teams
- Lead trade studies, understand competing design priorities, and provide direction and clarity for burning down risk
- Design and develop power electronics, controls, sensors, high speed communication
- Engineer electronics for volume production from product requirements to prototype to schematic capture to layout and validation
- Mentor and lead junior team members
- Comfortable making progress in open-ended problems that span multiple disciplines (ME, SW, Aero, Thermal, etc.)
- Enjoy working independently and owning designs
- Being able to communicate technical challenges to both fellow engineers and non-engineers alike
- Past success developing electronics for critical systems in aerospace or transportation
- Expertise with high and low speed protocols such as MIPI, Ethernet, CAN, RS-485, UART, I2C, SPI
- Experience with batteries and charging
- Familiarity with motors and motor drive
- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, collaborative, environment to make novel products in a blossoming industry
- Obtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days of employment is strongly encouraged for all Skydio employees and required for certain positions.
