Director of Catering

SkyBridge Luxury & Associates has partnered with a new, design-forward luxury hotel in Houston to recruit an accomplished and entrepreneurial Director of Catering to lead the launch and growth of a newly established catering division.

This is a rare opportunity to build a department from the ground up—developing strategy, structure, and standards for a property poised to redefine modern luxury in the Houston market. The ideal candidate will bring a proven background in catering sales, event design, and team leadership, along with the vision and drive to shape a department that reflects both creativity and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and launch of the hotel’s catering department, establishing processes, goals, and service standards from inception.
• Drive sales and revenue growth through proactive prospecting, client relationship management, and community engagement.
• Oversee all aspects of event planning, detailing, and execution, ensuring a seamless experience that reflects the hotel’s elevated brand standards.
• Partner with the culinary, operations, and sales teams to deliver innovative, on-brand events that balance profitability with memorable guest experiences.
• Develop strategic partnerships with corporate, social, and wedding clients to position the property as a top destination for luxury events in Houston.
• Manage forecasting, budgeting, and reporting while maintaining financial accountability and maximizing departmental performance.
• Recruit, mentor, and inspire a growing catering team as the department expands.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in catering sales or event management within a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment.
• Strong track record of building or scaling successful catering or events operations.
• Deep knowledge of Houston’s event, social, and corporate markets.
• Proven ability to balance creative vision with business discipline.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Passion for hospitality, design, and delivering experiences that exceed expectations.
