What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trailer Mechanic position at Sky Transportation Services?
· Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
· Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades. Performs Preventative Maintenance and mechanical repairs to dry van trailers, suspension, chassis, brake and electrical systems.
· Verifies vehicle performance by maintaining the prescribed maintenance schedule.
· Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing, safety, and adjusting.
· Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting thru sublet providers.
· Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
· Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; reporting needed repairs.
· Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications and attending vendor sponsored trainings.
· Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
