Title: Test Engineer – Data Platform & Pipelines

Location: Tysons Corner, VA (Hybrid)

Overview

We are seeking a Test Engineer / QA Analyst to validate cloud-based data pipelines, curated datasets, and platform components. This role focuses on verifying data accuracy, functional requirements, integration points, and system performance across the enterprise data platform.

Responsibilities:

• Develop test plans, scenarios, and cases for data pipelines and transformations.
• Validate ingestion, transformation logic, and data outputs across curated products.
• Perform regression, integration, and UAT testing.
• Verify data quality rules, lineage, and mappings.
• Document defects and track them through resolution.
• Use SQL and analytical tools to validate pipeline outputs.
• Support automation of data quality or validation tests.
• Work closely with Data Engineers and Analysts during release cycles.

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years of software testing or QA experience, preferably in data engineering environments.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to analyze large datasets.
• Experience testing data pipelines (ETL/ELT, API integrations, batch, or streaming).
• Experience writing test plans and documentation.
• Strong understanding of data validation, lineage, and quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AWS, Snowflake, or Airflow testing.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with dbt test frameworks.
• Experience supporting Agile delivery environments.
