POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Skills Services Provider (SSP) provides in-home and community-based family services, including crisis intervention, skill-building, and advocacy. These services include Family Preservation and Home-Based Casework through the Department of Child Services (DCS) and Juvenile Probation. SSPs maintain a flexible work schedule of 40 hours a week and must be available to provide support to the families 7 days a week in addition to an on-call rotating schedule. The Skills Services Provider oversees, manages, and ensures compliance of a caseload of clients alongside their Supervisor. They provide services that focus on improving parenting and family functioning while keeping children safe and ensuring practices are in place to meet families' needs. The Skills Services Provider reports directly to the Therapeutic Program Manager.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to conduct assessments and develop a treatment plan.
- Carry an appropriate caseload that will not exceed 12 families.
- Utilize and document Evidence-Based Practices for families and persons served
- Conduct a safety risk assessment as needed/required for families
- Attend weekly supervision and/or staffing meetings for information-sharing with therapists, supervisors, and other team members; must come prepared to participate.
- Maintain a balanced and professional relationship through dress, personal contact, written documentation, and communication that exemplifies the conduct expected by Sky Point Social Services.
- Participate in referral-related meetings and needs for the caseload which can include attending court, school/education, team meetings, etc.
- Participate in compliance-related activities, such as reviewing documentation for file compliance purposes.
- Provide whole-person and family-centered care coordination across medical, behavioral, and social service community
- Represent Sky Point Social Services’ work ethic, including communication with client families, outside agencies, referral sources, and team members, in a professional manner.
- Complete all required daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork within guidelines established by the Department of Children Services and Sky Point Social Services.
- Be able to provide skills training services based on multiple service standards, if necessary, to maintain an appropriate caseload as the needs and service type within a specific case may change
- Participate in on-call rotation with the team to ensure the safety needs of the family unit are addressed 24/7
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s, or Master's degree from an accredited university preferably in one of the following disciplines: psychology, sociology, mental health, social work, counseling, social services, or related field.
- If individuals possess an Associate Degree, High School Degree, or GED, they must also have:
- At least 4 years full-time employment experience providing direct skills training, case management and/or casework services to children & families that includes providing services to families that need assistance in the protection and care of their children.
- Employee must be trained and competent to complete the service as required by federal and State of Indiana law.
- Employee must be Credentialed according to the requirements of the evidence-based model(s) used.
- Employees must carry appropriate caseloads, never carrying a caseload greater than what is allowed by the model being delivered.
- Employees must possess a valid driver's license, have reliable transportation and the ability to use a private vehicle to transport themselves and others, and must comply with the state policy concerning minimum car insurance coverage, including a good driving record.
- Child welfare experience
- Three years of prior skills training/case management experience
- High level of knowledge and efficiency in online systems (such as Google Suite) and user interface systems.
- Must be an independent worker and efficient in tasks with little oversight.

- Employee must be able to successfully complete all required training in the required time allotted.
