Position Summary
The Operations Manager owns the day-to-day execution of our crane, rigging, and heavy haul operations — scheduling and dispatching crews and equipment, ensuring jobs are completed safely, on time, and profitably, and leading field and shop personnel. This role bridges sales, field operations, and the shop, and is accountable for safety, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and operational profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and dispatch cranes, operators, riggers, and heavy haul equipment to meet customer commitments.
- Oversee daily field operations to ensure jobs are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Lead, coach, and hold accountable operators, riggers, drivers, and shop/maintenance staff.
- Serve as primary operational point of contact for customers — confirm scope, lift plans, site requirements, and timelines.
- Review and approve lift plans, permits, and site logistics in coordination with the safety and sales teams.
- Manage fleet readiness with the shop — coordinate maintenance, inspections, and minimize equipment downtime.
- Drive a strong safety culture; ensure OSHA, ASME B30, DOT, and company safety standards are followed on every job.
- Optimize equipment utilization, crew productivity, and job costing to improve operational margins.
- Manage permitting, escorts, and routing for heavy haul and oversize/overweight loads.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of field and shop personnel.
- Track and report on key operational metrics (utilization, on-time performance, job profitability, safety).
- Coordinate with the sales team on quoting, scheduling feasibility, and customer follow-through.
- Partner with leadership to build scalable processes that support company growth and the new dealership launch.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of operations experience in crane, rigging, heavy haul, construction, or heavy equipment.
- 3 years in a supervisory or management role leading field crews and/or shop teams.
- Strong knowledge of crane operations, rigging practices, and lift planning.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, ASME B30, and DOT regulations relevant to crane and heavy haul operations.
- Proven ability to schedule, dispatch, and coordinate multiple crews and assets simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort with scheduling, dispatch, and job-costing software.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the mobile crane rental and/or precast erection industry.
- NCCCO certification (operator, rigger, lift director) or strong familiarity with NCCCO standards.
- Experience managing heavy haul / oversize-overweight permitting and routing in Florida.
- P&L or job-costing / budget responsibility experience.
- Class A CDL.
- Bachelor's degree in operations, construction management, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This is an on-site role based in Orlando, FL, combining office work with regular presence at active job sites. Requires the ability to visit outdoor construction/lift sites, walk uneven terrain, and be exposed to weather, noise, and heavy equipment. Must follow all PPE and site safety requirements.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
