Sky Fiber Internet is a Nevada-based fiber and fixed wireless internet provider building broadband networks across rural and northern Nevada. We’re growing quickly, and we’re hiring an in-house bookkeeper to own our day-to-day books and help us move to better financial systems.
What you’ll do
- Maintain four separate QuickBooks Desktop company files, including the general ledger, journal entries, account coding and cleanup
- Reconcile bank, credit card and loan accounts every month
- Support accounts payable: enter and code vendor bills, match them to POs and invoices, prepare payment runs and work with the AP team to keep vendors paid on time
- Manage expense and bill workflows in Ramp, including receipt matching, coding and syncing to the books
- Bring payroll data from our third-party payroll processor into QuickBooks
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Prepare quarterly sales/use tax returns, annual Nevada Commerce Tax returns and Washoe County personal property tax declarations
- Track costs by entity and by project, including grant-funded construction projects
- Produce monthly financial reports for management use
- Support our outside CPA with year-end work, audits and grant reporting documentation
- Help plan and carry out our move from QuickBooks Desktop to a new accounting platform, including data cleanup, testing and process documentation
What you’ll need
- 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, including preparation of financial statements
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop
- A solid grasp of accrual accounting, reconciliations, and AP and AR processes
- Willingness to learn new software and help lead a system change
- Close attention to detail and the ability to keep accurate records across several entities
- Comfort working independently in a fast-moving small company
Nice to have
- Experience with Ramp
- Experience with job costing or project-based accounting, ideally in construction, telecom or utilities
- Exposure to grant-funded or government-funded projects
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct or a similar platform migration
Pay: $29.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
