Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Ensure that all guests receive the highest level of service and hospitality.
· Implement and monitor effective controls of food, beverage and labor costs.
· Maintain a courteous, friendly and professional attitude at all times.
· Fundamental in menu planning and pricing.
· Proficient in and/or the ability to learn the managerial functions and train staff in the POS system.
· Trains staff to properly use tablets and handhelds and monitors their care and maintenance.
· Protects company assets by utilizing them in the manner intended and ensuring they are secured after use.
· Maintain awareness of market trends and competitors.
· Set annual goals for department above and beyond financials.
· Ensure checkout procedures for staff are followed and assist accounting in reconciling any financial discrepancies.
· Interview, coach, train, develop and evaluate direct reports.
· Encourage staff during stressful times.
· Receive and resolve guest concerns quickly, quietly and respectfully.
· Enforce all company policies and procedures while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
· Train staff in steps of elevated service and safe serve alcohol procedures.
· Complete team member schedules on time and accurately.
· Coordinates and schedules maintenance repairs and improvements on food service facilities.
· Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation.
· Have knowledge of all hotel facilities, services and hours of operation.
· Have knowledge of entertainment and special events scheduled in the hotel.
· Must be flexible to work any shift including weekends and holidays.
· Develop team member training and development programs.
· Develop with Sales & Marketing initiatives to grow sales.
· Adheres to hotel's dress code policy.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Banquet
· Establish systems within the dining room to ensure completion of side work and cleanliness of dining facilities and holds staff accountable for their execution.
· Works in conjunction with Convention Services Manager to execute banquets and special events based on BEOs and client contracts.
· Must be able to ring banquet checks into Squirrel accurately and by close of business the day of the event.
· Executes Banquet Bar Standard Operating Procedures including correctly ringing sales in Squirrel and inventory tracking and reconciliation.
· Maintain staffing levels necessary to execute banquets and special events to the high standards of the Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa.
· Serve and liaison between banquet team and kitchen.
· Maintain inventory of dining rooms and banquet items such as linens, silverware, salt and pepper shakers, etc.
Completes quarterly inventory of all table linen, silverware and glassware
