Awake Overnight Direct Support Professional

Job Overview

We have an immediate opening for an experienced, dedicated support staff to work in-home with an individual located in Newtown (Bucks County), PA. This is a fast-paced and physically intensive role providing direct care for an individual who requires complete physical assistance.

This is an awake overnight position and will be scheduled 3 shifts a week from 10:00pm - 9:00am (33 hours/week).

Open availability, including weekends and holidays are required.

This position is ideal for someone who:

Responsibilities

• Redirect the individual safely and effectively as needed
• Cultivate feelings of safety and security for the individual
• Model positive behavior and communication
• Full-assistance with mobility, eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, accessing the community, interacting within the community, etc.
• Consistently engage and communicate verbally with the individual
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Collaborate with family members and other support staff to best meet the needs of the individual

Qualifications

• Experience working 1-on-1 with individuals requiring complete physical assistance
• Experience working with non-verbal individuals
• Experience working with those living with a terminal illness
• Experience working with behavioral health
• Experience working in a family home and community settings

Experience and Education Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of experience working 1-on-1 with an individual requiring complete physical assistance or at least 3 years of experience working in a direct care and/or home health role
• Satisfy one of the following education or licensure requirements:

Current LPN or RN license

OR

Certified Nursing Assistant certification

Job Requirements

• Ability to independently lift at least 120 pounds
• A valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Up-to-date flu shot and COVID 19 vaccination
• Criminal background check
