Overall Job Description:
· Daily claim management (medical billing) for a very busy practice.
· Strong sense of professionalism. Demonstrate maturity, tact and understanding when dealings with staff members, physicians, and patients.
· Ensure compliance with billing practices and knowledge of HIPAA.
. General knowledge of federal and state billing guidelines, insurance and medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding.
. Great time management - The ability to organize work according to priorities. The ability to complete projects in a timely and accurate manner while working against specific deadlines. The ability to carry out special assignments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Data entry of patient demographics to post medical charges into medical billing software daily.
· Insurance Follow Up/Collections including working correspondence.
· Insurance and Patient Payment Posting
· Various billing and collections functions, as needed.
Qualifications:Experience:
- CPC or CPB certification (required)
- 1 year accounts receivable experience (preferred)
- Wound Care billing experience is a plus
- Familiarity with insurance claim processes
- Strong data entry and accuracy skills
- Knowledge of appeals, denials, and prior authorizations
