Description

Skowhegan Savings Bank seeks an individual to join our team as VP of Treasury Management. This in an onsite position that will sit in our Main Office in Skowhegan. 


Position Summary: 

The VP of Treasury Management is responsible for leading the Bank’s treasury strategy with a focus on strengthening business, government, and nonprofit relationships and driving growth in deposits, liquidity solutions, and payment services. The role oversees both treasury sales and operational functions to ensure seamless execution and consistently exceptional customer experience. Responsible for generating new business and expanding revenue within an established portfolio with accountability for achieving organic deposit growth and fee income objectives. This leader drives initiatives that enhance product effectiveness, evaluates emerging trends in digital payments and treasury innovation, and ensures alignment with the Bank’s business objectives, risk framework, and regulatory expectations.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the Bank’s treasury strategy, driving growth in business, government, and nonprofit deposit, liquidity management, and payment solutions. 
  • Oversee treasury sales and operational functions to ensure seamless, coordinated execution, exceptional customer experience, and consistent adherence to service level agreements.
  • Strengthen and expand existing treasury relationships by conducting routine reviews, identifying additional needs, and ensuring consistently high service levels that deepen client engagement and retention.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for the Treasury Management team while fostering team development and engagement of a high-performing, client-focused culture.
  • Monitor and assess emerging trends in treasury technology, payments innovation, and market dynamics to guide product innovation and strategic direction.
  • Champion a disciplined sales management through effective pipeline oversight, CRM utilization, and structured prospecting strategies that drive consistent execution.
  • Lead the development of proposals, presentations, and RFP responses that clearly articulate the Bank’s treasury value proposition and drive new business opportunities.
  • Provide oversight to ensure the Treasury Management team meets or exceeds annual goals for deposits, treasury fee revenue, and client acquisition, maintaining accountability for sales performance across markets.
  • Direct select treasury sales engagements to support growth of deposits and treasury services.
  • Partner closely with commercial lending and retail banking teams to deliver integrated treasury solutions that support client growth and retention.
  • Ensure alignment with internal risk frameworks and regulatory expectations, maintaining strong governance, compliance, and operational controls.
  • Represent the Bank in the community and industry, enhancing market visibility and cultivating Centers of Influence and strategic relationships.
  • Develop and manage the annual treasury management budget, including forecasting deposit growth, income performance, and resource needs to support strategic and financial objectives.


Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (in related field such as business preferred) with 7-10 years of Treasury Management experience desired with extensive knowledge of treasury management & payments.
  • 3-5 years of supervising, leading and developing teams
  • Demonstrated ability at promoting revenue growth, strengthening client relationships, and leading both sales and operations to delivering innovative, high-performing treasury solutions.
  • Exceptional strategic acumen and operational insight, with expertise in risk, compliance, and digital advancement within treasury and payments.
  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and Accredited ACH Professional (ACP) preferred

  • Expertise in treasury management, deposit solutions, liquidity optimization, and advanced payment technologies. 
  • Demonstrated success expanding and retaining complex business, government, and nonprofit relationships in highly competitive markets.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate high performing treasury and cash management teams. 
  • Strategic business development leadership, with the ability to guide teams in driving revenue growth and strengthening the Bank’s market position. 
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation capabilities, with the skill to articulate complex concepts clearly to senior leaders, customers, and cross-functional partners.
  • Highly effective collaborator with commercial lending teams, aligning insights and strategies to deliver treasury solutions that deepen customer relationships and support both credit and deposit growth.
  • Establish community and industry presence, with the ability to cultivate Centers of Influence partnerships and enhance the Bank’s visibility and reputation.
  • Proficiency with treasury systems, digital banking platforms, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel within the Bank’s footprint; 50% or more. Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.


Working Conditions:

  • General office environment with travel expectations of at least 50%
  • Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable
  • Moderate lifting (to 35 lbs.) required. Moderate reaching, walking, sitting and standing required.
